WHY? When PUMAS play, we play with PRIDE!
Over the past several seasons, the Pumas have grown to become a premier select organization in Southeast Wisconsin while ensuring the vast majority of our players are from New Berlin or attend New Berlin Schools. Our growth and success can be strongly attributed to our coaching selection process. We have a 3-step process in selecting our Head Coaches. It involves multiple people meet with new and existing Head Coaches (Board Members, other coaches, Parents, etc). We require coaches to pass a background check yearly. We require them to be USA Safe Certified in coaching.
Although we are a premier select organization, and thus have to make difficult rostering decisions at all levels sometimes, our families are very close knit. They have fun on and off the field! We believe it is because our families understand that they need to be working with their kids on development as much as, or more, than we are in the organization. This like-minded mentality through our diverse group of families is what creates a fun environment on the field and in the dugout! Our Pumas Family Pride shows every time we step on the field!
Here is how we define Pumas Pride!
1) Winning is not a focus but a result of preparation, effort, attitude, and respect for each other.
2) ALL members of the team contribute to the overall success of the team, and ALL players have the opportunity to learn various positions.
3) The kids come first, and we understand “baseball” is about a lot more than the games they play. As an organization we want to contribute to each players success, self-confidence, and positive attitude.
4) Coach communication is open and honest; parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s growth and expand on the fundamentals at home through regular practice.
3 Pillars of the New Berlin Pumas:
- Uber Communication at all levels
- Uber Follow through
- Kids come 1st
These 3 pillars encompass how we will run an organization that is viewed as one of the best select organizations in Wisconsin, while ensuring our families have clarity in expectations of the Pumas Board, The Coaches, The Kids, and Themselves.
