Who are the Pumas?
The New Berlin Pumas are a Youth Select Baseball team in New Berlin, WI. Formed over 20 years ago, the Pumas were officially incorporated as a 501c3 organization in 2012. In 2020 the Pumas expanded by adding the New Berlin Pumas Fastpitch program that continues to develop and expand on our Pumas family.
What League do the Pumas play in?
The Pumas Baseball teams participate in the MAJORybl, the WYSBL, and WBA depending on the teams. All Pumas Fastpitch teams participate in the Wisconsin Fastpitch League. The Pumas way
The Pumas are a highly competitive community based organization with championships in league and tournament play each and every year. Coaching selection is a multi-tiered approach prior to assigning head coaches. We ensure our baseball coaches are SAFE CERTIFIED through USA Baseball, and that our fastpitch coaches are USA Softball of Wisconsin compliant. This puts us in a good position to ensure our coaches put a focus on development, effort, and coachability for kids to succeed on and off the field as good teammates/people and stay within the Pumas organization. Coaches partnerships with parents helps to ensure this as well on each team. We have multiple fields and facilities available to us, which include our partnerships with the City of New Berlin, School District of new Berlin, Village of Big Bend, OAW, and Burghardt's. This allows us to work with the players in a more focused group year round. Very often we hear from our parents, "We love our Pumas family"! We are a group that likes to have fun and fellowship off the field, which translates to fun and hard work on the field. We are not only developing players, but young men and women that will become young adults. Learning life lessons is part of the game's journey. Overcoming adversity, rising to the challenges they are faced with are tools they will be able to use no matter where life takes them. For the Pumas - it's more than a game.
Fundraising
We will have Organization fundraising opportunities in the form of the New Berlin Pumas Tournament, partnering with local and national business in donations, a Golf Outing, a Beer & Wine Tasting adult even. We can't do it without our incredible families! More information will be given at our annual organizational meetings.
Communication
We feel that youth sports in general do not do the best job in communicating with the families of the organization. We make it a point to make sure you are aware of the key things the organization is working on. We will be having bi-annual all coaches meetings, as well as an annual all families meeting to make our families are a part of their child's success!
